PEP Webinar: Developing 21st Century Skill

On Saturday, January 30, 2021, PEP Practice will host it’s first webinar on Developing 21st Century skills. The focus of the webinar will be on Problem Solving skills and Prewriting strategies. The event is free, persons interested can tune in to the LIVE broadcast of the webinar via PEP Practice’s YouTube channel.

Dr Linda Bailey of the Reggae Math Foundation will be showing students how to use virtual manipulatives from the Braining Camp web application to solve problems.

Kimberly Bowen intends to help students with writing Non-Fictional summaries by teaching prewriting strategies such as Unpacking the writing prompt, Gathering the evidence using the main idea and supporting details graphic organizer, Organize the evidence using tables and saying what the evidence means and how it matters to their purpose of writing by using the Say, Mean and Matter table. Students will also learn the features of the parts of an essay, Introduction, Body and Conclusion.

The webinar will be interactive, students will be grouped using breakout classrooms and collaborate to answer questions.
