New dates for Grade 5 and 4 exams

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information has set the dates of  June 15 and 16, 2021 for the administration of the Grade Five Primary Exit Profile (PEP) – Performance Task . The students will be required to complete a task from the four key subject areas: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts.

Minister of Education Youth and Information, Mrs. Fayval Williams aludes  “We understand the challenges facing the education sector during this Covid-19 pandemic. We continue to work with the Ministry of Health and Wellness to ensure that more of our schools are inspected and that they attain a satisfactory report. We encourage all our students, parents, teachers and principals to utilize the learning approaches (online, audio/visual, learning kit and face-to-face where allowed) to help prevent any more learning loss. For those schools that are back in the face-to-face mode, they have the flexibility to utilize the rotational approach, the mixed modality and to avail themselves of the mobile intervention as we seek to reach all our students.”

School administrators are asked to pay close attention the allotted dates and make the necessary plans for a smooth administration.

The Grade Four Primary Exit Profile (PEP) – Performance Task will be administered on June 29 and 30, 2021 and will featured two tasks: a Mathematics and a Language Arts Task.

Schools’ administrators may obtain more information from the Student Assessment Unit: by telephone at 922-5680, 922-2420, 948-9254 or by emailing: terryann.thomas@moey.gov.jm
