The Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information (MoEYI) has announced that the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination is currently undergoing internal assessments to determine necessary changes. Minister Senator Dr. the Hon. Dana Morris Dixon stated that the examination, designed to enhance students’ academic and critical-thinking capabilities, is likely to be restructured. The Ministry aims to ensure that PEP effectively meets the educational needs of students and will announce specific changes in due course.

In addition to the forthcoming structural changes, the Ministry has adjusted the dates for the 2025 PEP examinations to accommodate disruptions caused by inclement weather and to provide additional preparation time for students. The revised schedule is as follows:
- Ability Test: Thursday, February 20, 2025
- Performance Task Tests:
- Language Arts: Wednesday, March 19, 2025
- Mathematics: Thursday, March 20, 2025
- Curriculum-Based Tests:
- Language Arts and Science: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
- Mathematics and Social Studies: Thursday, May 1, 2025
The Ministry acknowledges the challenges faced by students, educators, and parents during these times and is committed to providing the necessary support to ensure the best performance by all students. School administrators are encouraged to utilise the additional time to adequately prepare students for the assessments.
